HOLIDAY pies

Distinct flavors, done differently. 

Each gourmet pie is inspired by my adventures growing up on an organic farm in the Pacific Northwest, traveling the world, and the people I have met along the way.

 

All are made with fresh, high quality, seasonal ingredients [organic when possible], adding to the depth and complexity of flavor.

I'm back this year with pies for THANKSGIVING!

Apple Blackberry w/ Rosemary Crust

In Western Washington, blackberries grow wild. In my family it was tradition to pick them fresh and eat them with a meal. This pie honors my love of the orchard I grew up on and the apples that grew there along with the wild blackberries.

Spiced Pear w/Thyme Butter Crust

Pears also grew in our orchard and are still one of my favorites in any form: poached, dried, fresh. One thing I love is how versatile they are. This combination brings out there sultry side, the juice combining perfectly with the butter and thyme.

This was one of my favorites! I was only going to have one bite but I couldn't stop. Soooo good! The pear was perfectly cooked - juicy but firm. The crust crisp.

Kentucky Bourbon Eggnog w/Shortbread Crust and Candied Oranges

Three of my favorite things are eggnog, great bourbon  and shortbread. Why not put them all in a pie! The candied oranges provide the perfect extra pop. This delicious combination has sold out every time I've offered it.

This pie is my absolute favorite - and I don't like eggnog or bourbon generally. Something you do with this pie though just makes the flavor perfect, especially with the candied bits of orange that just pop in your mouth.

Savory Blackberry with Sautéed Onions and Rosemary, topped with Goat Cheese

This has been a hit pie at my dinner parties for years. The onions just work :)

Spiced Coffee w/Brioche French Toast Crust

This pie is combines my love for Mexican café de olla and the golden indulgence of Sunday brunch.  Essentially, this is my love letter to slow mornings and soulful flavor.

I didn’t know coffee pie could taste this comforting — it’s elegant but nostalgic at the same time. It’s the kind of dessert you want to share… but won’t.

Better Than Pumpkin

The first pie I learned to bake was pumpkin when I was twelve. Every year since, I’ve refined it—tweaking the spices, deepening the flavor, and sourcing the best ingredients I could find. What emerged is a rich, aromatic pumpkin pie that happens to be vegan and gluten-free—yet tastes unapologetically better than the original.

So I tried the pumpkin and it is amazing! Probably best pumpkin pie I have ever had. Sure you gave me the right one ;) Couldn't tell it was vegan or gluten free.

Washington Orchard Apple

I grew up on an organic farm in Washington State. This pie celebrates the many different varieties of apples in our orchard and wraps them in a buttery homemade crust.
